RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., September 10, 2013 - Focusing on enhanced member convenience and operational efficiency, Piedmont Advantage Credit Union has broadly expanded its relationship with CO-OP Financial Services, adding mobile services, and debit and credit processing from the company.
Piedmont Advantage CU will offer CO-OP Mobile and CO-OP My Deposit Mobile for its members. CO-OP Mobile provides members with access to their credit union accounts from the convenience of their wireless devices, while My Deposit allows members to make a deposit by taking a picture of the front and back of the check with their mobile device.
Piedmont Advantage CU is also becoming a "full processing" client of CO-OP Financial Services by adding debit and credit processing. Debit processing features a single, reliable, fraud-resistant platform for signature and PIN transactions, saving operating expense. Credit processing includes the switch between the credit unions and the networks, exception processing services (disputes, retrievals, chargebacks) and authorization, scoring and fraud detection with 24/7 case management.
"We are looking forward to offering new services to our members, particularly the use of mobile services for iPhones, iPad and Android applications," said Judy Tharp, CEO, for Piedmont Advantage CU. "The mobile deposit application allows for check deposits and other services through smartphones, while their mobile banking solution will allow our members to conveniently use their devices for financial needs. We also expect to enhance our internal efficiencies through seamless transactions in debit and credit card processing from CO-OP."
"Our credit union's slogan is 'Easy, Wherever You Are' and it fits in well with CO-OP's own commitment to member convenience," said Tharp. "We are excited about partnering with a strong company created by credit unions, for credit unions. CO-OP has our best interest at heart!"
Piedmont Advantage CU (www.pacu.com) of Winston-Salem, N.C., has about 42,000 members and $240 million in total assets. The credit union is already partnering with CO-OP on key access and convenience services to members. Piedmont Advantage participates in CO-OP ATM, a network of 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide; and CO-OP Shared Branching, with 5,000 "live-teller" branches, and 2,000 self-service locations, enabling members to transact business at the branches of other credit unions while away from home.
