RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (January 3, 2013) - CO-OP Financial Services is encouraging credit unions to not simply settle for being the best kept secret among financial institutions, but instead dare to be the best there is.

The THINK 13 conference, organized by CO-OP Financial Services, is zeroing in on how to "Disrupt Business as Usual" - to creatively disrupt an organization from within, before it gets disrupted from without. And "as usual" for a THINK conference, this year's edition will feature a line-up of renowned business leaders from outside the industry, who will offer fresh takes on the movement's most pressing issues.

The event is being held Mon., April 29-Thurs., May 2, 2013 at the Swissotel in Chicago.

Registration is open at www.co-opthink.org. Early bird registration is available through Jan. 31 at $549 for credit union personnel and at $679 thereafter. Registrants may also select from four charity activities ranging from $100-$150, with proceeds going to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

"The credit union movement is subject to disruption everywhere - from economic and market trends to technology and regulations - but we can also do great things for our members in this challenging environment," said Stan Hollen, President/CEO, CO-OP Financial Services. "THINK 13 will be a 'master class' given by some of the world's most respected business leaders, and attendees will come away with strategies to successfully innovate and avoid business as usual."

Focusing on famous brands who have met and conquered disruption, a few of the THINK 13 speakers include:

  • Scott Belsky, author, "Making Ideas Happen," and founder of the behance.net online portfolio platform for creative professionals.
  • John Costello, Chief Global Marketing and Innovation Officer, Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc., who has helped lead Dunkin' Donuts to ongoing success in the age of Starbucks.
  • Margaret Heffernan, author (including "Willful Blindness: Why We Ignore the Obvious at our Peril"), corporate CEO, entrepreneur and documentary film maker.
  • David Robertson, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Robertson will draw from his book "Brick by Brick," chronicling the unlikely corporate turnaround at LEGO.
