RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (September 25, 2012) – Determined to keep up with fast changing regulatory and technology environments for ATM management, Tower Federal Credit Union has elected to turn over the terminal driving of its ATM fleet to CO-OP Financial Services.

Tower FCU (www.towerfcu.org), based in Laurel, Md., owns a fleet of 29 ATMs that are now serviced under CO-OP ATM Terminal Driving, which includes complete management of the credit union’s ATM terminals and programs. With $2.5 billion in total assets and 123,000 members, Tower FCU is the largest credit union inMaryland, and among the 50 largest in theUnited States.

“It was going to cost us more to maintain our compliance with the various rules and regulations surrounding ATMs if we tried to continue to drive our own ATMs,” said Sean Zimmermann, Senior Vice President, Operations and Technology, for Tower FCU. “We expect that this move will allow us to focus on our core competencies rather than ATM compliance.

“In addition, the software system we were using was outdated and would have required a significant capital investment. This change helps us modernize the look and functionality of our ATM screen content. Finally, we can now consider other ATM hardware vendors, if we so choose in the future, whereas we were limited to only one vendor previously,” said Zimmermann.
