CO-OP Financial Services has been proactively contacting clients in the impacted areas to assess needs and determine where we can help. We have found that Hurricane Sandy has once again enabled the credit union movement to demonstrate its core values of people helping people and cooperation between institutions. 

We remind you that CO-OP Financial Services provides the services that allow you to remain up and running for your clients when disaster strikes. You may need to close down your office. Your clients may need to leave the area. But you can still be there for your members 24/7 with CO-OP Shared Branching, CO-OP Member Center and CO-OP Network, among other services. 

It will no doubt be several days or longer before normal operations for credit unions resume in impacted areas. We urge you to remind your members of the access and convenience services you offer them as a CO-OP client:

  • Send alerts to your members reminding them of your call center 800 number, as well as the locator information for CO-OP Shared Branching and CO-OP Network;
  • Make the links to these services more prominent on your Web site; and
  • Update your telephone answer message with this information.
