White Paper/Webinar Executive Summary

Credit unions are seeing strong interest in digital wallets by prospective and existing members. The concept is an attractive one - replace cash and leather wallets with a mobile phone enabling members to make payments from their accounts, including new forms of electronic payment such as person-to-person (P2P).

To help credit unions keep up with the fast-developing P2P/digital wallets technology, CO-OP Financial Services offers a white paper that covers:

  • Definitions of P2P, digital wallets, near-field communications (NFC) and wallets not requiring a swipe or a tap. In addition to rendering technology in plain English, this section also provides examples of products and providers currently on the market, as well as assessments of adoption successes and challenges to-date.
  • A survey of key recent industry developments from leaders in technology, financial services and retail point of sale.
  • CO-OP's own recommendations to clients and non-clients alike.
  • A summary of CO-OP's vision for the future for P2P/digital wallets and a summary of CO-OP's current and planned services in this area.

Through education and service on P2P/digital wallets, CO-OP intends to ensure credit unions are at the forefront of financial services technology and convenience for their members.
